A SPACE WHERE MAKERS CAN MAKE.
MAKEbhm is a creative workspace and makerspace located in the Avondale neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. We offer hands-on classes, shared studio memberships, dedicated studios, and coworking space for artists, makers, and small creative businesses.
If you’re looking for a place to take a ceramics class, learn screen printing, build a studio practice, or work alongside other creatives—this is that place.
We provide the space, tools, power, WiFi, and coffee.
You bring the ideas and the effort.
Let’s get to work.
Coworking Space
MAKEbhm’s coworking space offers 24/7 access to a shared office environment designed for freelancers, remote workers, and small creative teams who value working alongside other creatives.
Coworking members enjoy professional amenities, flexible options, and a welcoming creative atmosphere.
Dedicated Studios
The heart of MAKE is the dedicated studios, flexible workspaces for artists and makers who need a space of their own to build a consistent practice or business.
These open floor plan, 9x9’ spaces, can be combined to grow with you. All spaces have access to power, some have wall space & some are free standing. Most importantly, you are guaranteed to have some creative neighbors.
Shared Studios
Studio Memberships provide independent access to shared studios for makers who want to practice regularly but may be limited by space or equipment.
This is a working studio environment. Members are expected to have foundational experience, follow studio guidelines, work safely, and help maintain shared spaces.
Classes
Classes at MAKEbhm are open to everyone and designed as stand-alone experiences. They’re the best way to try something new, build foundational skills, or spend time making with friends or coworkers.
We offer a rotating schedule of introductory and specialty classes in ceramics, screen printing, stained glass, drawing, digital tools, and more. Class sizes are intentionally small, and every student leaves with finished work and the skills to continue practicing.
Classes are also the primary pathway into Studio Membership. All shared studio members are expected to have basic experience before working independently, and classes are the best way to build that experience.
