Join visiting artist, KP Mills, in this one evening dive into the Japanese art of shibori, a traditional dye form in which surface designs are created using resist techniques such as folding, clamping, tying and stitching. You will then create your own shibori designs and dye them in an indigo vat.
We’ll provide an organic cotton tea towel and a cotton bandana. You can bring one of your own pieces of clothing from home to also experiment on. (Your garment needs to be 100% cotton, linen or rayon, or a blend of those fibers.)

KP Mills is a natural dyer and textile artist who grows and forages many of the dyes that she uses on her property south of Kansas City, Missouri.
