Screen Printing Benefit: Print for Humanity

  • MAKEbhm 4000 3rd Avenue South Birmingham, AL, 35222 United States (map)

Learn the basic of screen printing through the age old tradition of protest art using shirt and sign designs created by local artist for our first Print for Humanity event.

Proceeds from these classes will be used to purchase blanks and inks for the next public Print for Humanity event.

What is Print for Humanity? Last Saturday, our screen printers partnered up with Birmingham DSA, ACIJ, HICA & a slew of local artists to run a community screen printing session benefiting Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice & the Hispanic and Immigrant Center of Alabama. The line was long making it difficult for everyone to get a shirt, but we look forward to doing another soon!

Folks got to choose from an array of designs from local artists, made donations directly to ACIJ &/or HICA, and had opportunities learn more about how you can help keep families together, protect everyone's rights, and take direct action. All in our friends at ACIJ & HICA raised almost $14,000 that afternoon.
