This is a class for anyone who loves fabric, thread, handmade moments. No knowledge or skill is necessary. Maybe you have an interest in a meditative experience-based making practice. Maybe you know makers and you want to try working with textiles and notions.
Slow stitching sounds like embroidery, but it is a relaxed running stitch. Instead of focusing on the shape of a stitch, you focus only on the needle and thread going in and out. Watching the movement, being present in the rhythm.
Rachel Bates will teach you how to start, how to expand your materials, and how to progress to a finished banner or scroll. Materials are provided, but we encourage you to bring meaningful embellishments and fabric scraps.
Join Rachel to create comfort and community through slow stitching.
