Mondays, January 13 - 27, 6 - 8pm
Pre-requisite: ability to center clay, have mastered the basic mechanics of throwing
Ages: 16+ (12 and up are welcome if signed up with an adult)
Have you nailed the basics of throwing? Looking to start making more consistent, complex, or larger? Jessica Russell will work with you on your throwing technique & build upon the skills learned in the beginner's class. You will learn different techniques to get closer to creating the forms that you envision and how to attach pieces together to add accents to your work.
This is a second-level class, students should be comfortable centering and throwing on their own.
The studio has all the materials & tools you will need. We recommend wearing warm layers, clothes and shoes you aren’t afraid to get muddy, and trimming your nails before class.
What to Expect:
This class will be a more open format than our Beginner Throwing. Jess will use demos to help refine your technique and broaden your skills. Things that could be covered are throwing consistent sizes and shapes, throwing lidded vessels, and adding handles or modifying your thrown pieces.
